Teaching Fluency

I don't know where the summer went but the count down is on ... I go back to work in less than 3 weeks.  As this reality began to sink in, I realized I had not finished as many projects as I hoped.  One thing I have enjoyed this summer is seeing movies ... Despicable Me 2 is one of my favorites this summer.  As I was watching this movie one clip in particular stood out to me ... Agnes practicing lines for school.  One personal goal I have this year is to do a better job of teaching fluency as well as change how I teach it.  I went to Youtube and searched for this particular clip from the movie.  I cannot wait to show my students what I mean by ... reading like a robot!

Future projects ... using QR codes for my library and a fluency center with mini reader's theaters, poems, and more!

I am curious how people hold students accountable for comprehension during silent reading time, I am looking into using QR codes to facilitate before, during, and after questions in books, hoping the students ponder them while reading.  (The problem is that I only have 2 iPads.)
